【物理学史】Philosophical Transactions　350年分のアーカイブ

イギリス王立協会(Royal Society)は，英語圏では初の査読付科学研究誌となった，Philosophical Transactions誌を，創刊号の1665年まで遡ってインターネット上でアクセス可能にする，と発表した．2006年12月から，雑誌の定期購読者に対してアクセス可能になる．

Philosophical Transactions誌には，科学の広い分野にまたがって話題が提供されており，340年間のアーカイブには，約60000の論文があるという． 創刊した1665年には，Robert Boyle, "The Experimental History of Cold" [Phil Trans 1 (1665), 8]の論文があり，Newtonが望遠鏡内の光について論じた論文も，Isaac Newton, "New Theory about Light and Colors" [Phil Trans 6 (1671) 3075]としてあるという． 雑誌は，1887年には， Series A (Mathematics and Physical Sciences) と Series B (Biological Sciences) とに分割されている．
