英国の教育専門誌 Times Higher Education社が世界の大学をランキングした Top 200が，新聞などで報道された． 毎年発表しているものだが，今年から評価方法が変更されて，順位変動が注目されていた．

新しい基準となった ランキングの５要素とその比率は以下のもの．

Teaching — the learning environment（教育）	30%
Research — volume, income and reputation（研究）	30%
Citations — research influence（論文の引用インパクト）	32.5%
Industry income — innovation（業界収入）	2.5%
International mix — staff and students（国際構成比）	5%
